Who Am I?

Hi there, and welcome to Compositions for the King!

My name is Rachel, and I'm a sinner turned saint; saved by Jesus, and I'm not ashamed of His love for me! Without Him, I am nothing. He makes life worth living!

A little about me...
I am the oldest in a family of 10, which keeps life exciting! I love music, both listening to it and playing my piano and harp whenever I get a chance. I love life, I love to laugh. I love to make people happy. I love color, books, crisp fall days, fresh bread or cookies straight out of the oven, hand lettering, friends.

I competed in the National Bible Bee from 2011 to 2015, and by God's grace I qualified for the National competition twice.
I guess you could say I am also somewhat of a modern day abolitionist, as I can't stand to see horrific crimes such as abortion and human trafficking prevalent around the world, and even in my own state. I pray and wish to see these evil deeds brought to the light and discontinued.

Most importantly though, I want to use my one life to glorify the Lord in whatever avenue He calls me. God, being my Creator, is the only reason I am here in this world, and I know He has put me here for a reason. This life is so short, we must use it for Him!

Writing is a passion and a gift I believe God has given to me, and I want to use it for His glory and the benefit of others. That's why I named my blog Compositions for the King: I write for the King, and I write so that other citizens of His kingdom may hopefully be encouraged. I felt lead to create an avenue in which I can share my writing with the world. I post on a variety of topics and in different styles...from articles, to stories, to just thoughts about what the Lord is teaching me.

Press on to know our dear Savior and may we be faithful soldiers of our high calling!
